Description
Drowning is a silent killer and one of the fastest fatal accidents if not treated promptly before the victim has access to professional medical help. In Vietnam, drowning is a serious problem, especially among children, when every day 6 to 10 children under 15 years old die from drowning.
Victims survive drowning with many different outcomes, some people are lucky to recover completely and some have to live their whole life with serious injuries and sequelae from drowning such as acute respiratory failure, inflammation lungs, brain damage, plant life, etc.
The course will provide you:
- Proper understanding of the fatal mechanism of drowning, thereby developing safe behavior
- Recognition of drowning signs
- Safe approaches to drowning people
- How to bring a drowning person to shore safely for both the victim and the rescuer
- How to give first aid to a drowning person
After completing this Drowning Prevention Awareness course and First Aid Training Course, you can join the Swimming Pool Drowning Practice program.
The program is designed by Mr. Tony Coffey – an Australian expert in paramedicine and water rescue based on Water safety and rescue program transferred from Surf Life Saving Services – Australia’s peak coastal water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority.
This course adds safety knowledge in addition to equipping swimming skills, but does not replace swimming lessons. Please learn swimming as soon as you can
